Tono and the Finance Company

Good friend Timothy Chapman and his lovley lady Taart recently co-ordinated this great album art for Tono and the Finance Company.
I had the pleasure of making Tono’s acquaintance when a group of us travelled to New Plymouth in the summer for Tim’s exhibition at the Laundry gallery. While a group of us assisted tim with his installation Tono explained his natural association of colours to sound. Later and before the convoy back to Auckland we stopped at the beach (it was mid-summer) . All dressed in black we contrasted dramatically with the local beachgoers but being a holiday town no-one seemed to mind. So we lay back in the sun and let Tono’s guitar nurse our wary minds as he gracefully strummed to cheerfully disguised narratives of irony.
The cover art is in the form of a ‘Exquisite corpse’. John Ward Knox, Aleksandra Petrovich, Tim Chapman, Jenna (?), Ceili (?) and I all were assigned different body parts without knowing what the other pieces looked like. I had assignment:torso. The EP release is at Whammy bar on June 26th…
